Enjoy morning coffee on the front porch as the sun rises above the palm trees and greets the day. After breakfast, a 5 minute walk down to the beach via the private access path opens onto the white sands and turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico. The shells washed up on the shore are astounding. Pick up a few, but be selective. It's easy to get carried away. When you get back from shelling, rinse your treasures at the shell washing station next to the pool; delightfully close to your unit, but not so close as to hear the exuberant sounds of youthful bathers. Prepare lunch in newly renovated kitchen or visit one of Sanibel's many cafes. The afternoon can be spent lounging by pool, playing tennis, walking hand in hand on the beach, spotting wild life in one of Sanibel's nature preserves, or perhaps riding bikes and shopping for the perfect memento in exquisite shops along Periwinkle way. Before you know it, the sun dips toward the horison. It's time to sip afternoon cocktails on the lanai. With the evening, comes the possibility of a pleasant meal at home or a sumptuous repast taken at a great nearby restaurant. An evening's entertainment can be found at BIG Arts, Schoolhouse Theatre, the local movie theater, at home on the entertainment center, or better yet, curled up on one of the comfortable couches with a good book. A moonlit walk on the beach before bedtime would finish a perfect day. Sleep with your bedroom door open to the lanai, and drift off to the surf, waking refreshed and relaxed for - another day on Sanibel Island.
